在日本舉行的第36屆世界少年軟式棒球錦標賽，受到颱風影響，比賽順延到29日開打，一日兩戰的中華隊，首場先以10：0擊敗新加坡，第2場對上日本北海道代表隊，則是4：1獲勝，晉級最後四強。

對日本北海道代表隊，掛帥先發的呂維倫，5.1局投球僅失1分，但非自責分，而且他在打擊上也多有建樹，3局下在隊友獲保送上壘後，呂維倫、簡頎恩2支安打，先攻下2分， 5局下，呂維倫的安打又帶動中華隊另一波攻勢，再添2分。
